Yea, i just bought a bow...EXCITED!

    Well i've been working my butt off (I'm 17 by the way) and i saved up enough cash to buy a bow...this is my first and i decided to go top of the line because i know once i get into it more i would have regretted not getting what i wanted...well anyway this is what i got.

    Mathews Drenalin 29"/60-70 lb. draw
    Whammy Drop Away Rest
    Cobra Boomslang Sight
    Cyclone Release
    S-Coil Stab.
    Peep, Kisser, Sling (obviously)
    1 doz. Gold Tips with Blazer Fletchings

    I dropped $1150 on it, but i know it will last me for a very long time :biggrin1: . I havn't decided on a quiver or what broad heads i want yet so input would be nice.

    Welcome Matt...and Congrats on the new bow...real nice shooter...:peace:

    Yep that should last you...til the next one...:doh: this is an addiction and there is no help out there for us...so we come here...hope you post up and enjoy the forum as much as we do.

    as for broadheads I shoot muzzy's 3-blade...muzzy makes a great broadhead...

    Welcome Matt, sounds like a nice rig. :thumb:

    The Alpine Soft-loc is a nice quiver. I like Wasp fixed blade or Rocket mechanical broadheads.

    do yourself a favor and buy a quikee quiver (20 bucks or so) much more affordable then the Mathews 150.00 quiver! plus its removeable

    as for broadheads. I love my Muzzy! And you can get a 6 pack for like 35.00. use 3 for practice and 3 for game :)

    Good for you Im glad to see a young guy save his own money and buy a bow. You will really enjoy this purchase.

    I use a rage broadhead and a crimson talon.:rockon:

    :welcome: Sounds like a good setup. I'm shooting Rage 2blades this fall, I've used Muzzy's for yrs w/ good results. As far as the quiver, I would go w/ the more expensive Mathews arrow web t-series, it IS detachable, weighs almost nothing, and flows together w/ your Drenalin AK looks like it belongs on the bow.

    :welcome: to the forum. And congrats on the new bow. You will be very happy with the Drenalin. By the way we have a law around here that if you buy a new bow then we need pics, its called MAN LAW. So since you are new we will let it slide just do not let it happen again. NOW POST US SOME PICS.:peace: :laugh:

    As for the quiver and broadheads I will give my 2 cents worth and say. Alpine Soft-Loc and Muzzy.

    as for a quiver, I use a belt/hip quiver, I have always hated a quiver on my bow.......

    as for broadheads, I really like MUZZY also....

    The Kodiak wasn't too expensive like $25 @ Gander Mnt...it's nice the belt loop has snaps so I can take it off easily...:biggrin1:

    Nice setup you have there you should have good success with it.

    I have a Qickee quiver(s) and it's great and it does not cost much. $25 maybe ??? And they have different styles that hold different number of arrows. For 3D I use their 6 arrow quiver (don't ask), and for hunting I use the 3 arrow version.

    Hey guys, thanks for all of the replies. I've been swamped with school (senior year) and i didnt check back here for a little while. I'll post pics as soon as i can, but sadly the Drenalin's were out of stock at the shop i went to..they sell like hot cakes apparently haha. So i have to wait about a week and a half to get my new prized possession :censored: the wait is KILLING me already. I'm not sure if i want a hip quiver or a bow quiver yet. It seams that any extra weight off of the bow would allow for a more stable shot, but at the same time i think a hip quiver would get in the way more than anything while walking through brush and what not. Any input is appreciated.

    A Quickee Quiver comes off and on pretty easy and you can get extra mounts to pu on a treestand or the tree itself...may be an option..

    Yea, about the tree situation...looks like i'm hunting from the ground this year haha. I put all of my $ into my bow...i have $ left over but that needs to go into a quiver and a target, so no tree stand for me. I've hunted with rifle on the ground for many years already..this can't be too much different. All of the deer that i have had a chance to shoot have probably been 50 yards and closer so i should be ok.

    Well, you can have the best of both worlds if your going hunting from a tree stand. You can get a bow mounted quiver like the Quickee and then get an inexpensive second mounting block and screw it to the tree. When you get to you stand you can then move the quiver from the bow to the mount on the tree.
