Went to the range this morning and was playing around shooting the vegas 3 spot and found that I was rock solid just below the 9 ring and it was like my bow weighed a million pounds and I had to "drive by" the 10 ring to shoot at it. Anybody have that problem, any solutions other than the obvious(raise the bow a hair). Is there a better colored pin to shoot at the yellow?

Are you coming "up" on the target or coming down?

Coming down takes less energy and is a bit easier to hold.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Holding

If you can hold there, set up your sight so you hit dead x. This is a form of target panic.

Ya might try a ring type of aperature sight instead of a pin or dot. This way you can see where your arrow is going to hit. You can see what you are aiming at, in other words.

I agree with SRCARLSO, I always do this on paper targets, I found it helped w/target panic, plus really like being able to see the hole five or ten ring, Have not found this problem on 3-d targets yet.

Somebody told me this A long time ago and it seemed to work.
Draw the bow on the target with your finger behind the release and aim wright on the X. Then put your finger on the trigger and try aming on the target A second time. Try not to jump on the release. If you do try breaking down and try again. It worked for me and it might work for you.
    Good luck,

Hi Tim, I would not aim below the ring you want to hit, if you learn this way, then you will find that at 30, 40, 50 ext you will tend to aim low also. if all you do is 20 yards indor, it would be fine to do but Ive had the same problems that you are decribing, TARGET PANNIC!!!!! Learn to aim, if you cannot hold right on, let down, next time you draw, hold to the right of left of the x, get the hight right then move in from the side, this might help, i find that i draw, and ill move in from all diff directions, if i cant hold right on i wont shoot, ill start the shot over, also i shoot a blank bail alot, one with no target, doing this allows you to work your shot and not worry about hitting the x. Im no pro, but this has helped me alot!!!
