Is having ARC on a rangefinder really crucial for a bowhunter. If it is important but I have one without ARC is there a way to compensate for not having ARC?

You will find the difference is not significant, use what you have.

Shoot 310 fps and you don't need arc. LOL. Just kidding. ARC works, but not a must have. I am getting the Bushnell ARC 1000 for gun and bow hunting.

My .02 is if you hunt in very hilly terrain, it will help. Like out west off the ground. If your a local treestand hunter like me, you can do fine without it.

Is it worth the extra 100 to you to know the actual horizontal distance? If I remember right, at 20 yards elevated 30 feet you're reading about 23 yards without ARC. It wouldn't make much differance in my shot placement. I just feel better knowing. I got the Nikon Riflehunter for that reason and because I sometimes rifle hunt at long range.
