If you're bored at work you need to do somethng else to make a living and keep paying taxes... So that other people who are so bored at work can quit and sit back and let the government save them on our expense.

And what does this have to do with bowhunting ?

    Sorry pal, it's not funny...

I'd reply with a laugh but Chris has the clamps on the number of emoticons you can have... So I'll do the original from about 1982 (-:...

Naw, Bush is an idiot and so was his dad... Did you read the quotes from Vincent Fox (The ex-Mexican President) ? When he was in office he praised Bush. Now he's calling him the biggest head-case (or arrogant idiot or something like that) that he had ever met...

Salty ? I still like that one...

I didn't give Louie (SounthernFriedYankee) a hard time because he bought something from me that I posted in the classifieds...

Naw, my bad attitude right now is from other things like broken vehicles and such, which is why I have not posted much the past few weeks... I'm still doing a lot more laughing than complaining though, if you can believe it...

Sorry I was not really meaning to p*ss anyone off. My posts were just too terse relative to my 'normal' long-windedness...

    Multiple engine mis-fires in a 1999 Ford F-150 5.4L V8...
Each plug has it's own coil pack on it. I got 8 new coil packsfrom a buddy who runs a salvage yard. They came off of a 2001 5.4 V8 with 14k miles on it. I swapped all of them out with the newer ones. now I have more missing than I had before. So, I changed the plugs which is a MAJOR pita on that motor. Problem goes away for about 100 miles, then mysteriously comes back, cylinder 4 only this time. I have no clue what the heck is going on.

I tested the coil pack according to the shop manual and the resistence is dead on.

I'm personally a very calm and relaxed person and when I take a socket wrench and throw it against my garage wall there's big trouble in little china...

You mean the ones that have cronic intake manifold (coolant) leaks ???

Naw, nothing wrong with a Silverado, F-150, RAM... Either you get a good one or you get a bad one. I've had them all and this one has been a very good one.

This truck has been a workhorse with 134k miles on it with nothing replaced but brakes and tires, fluids and 1 muffler and 2 u-joints on the rear drive shaft it's whole life. I did have that weird cruise control fuse recall a year or so ago but that was a 20 minute trip to the dealer and back to fix it.

So the upshot it that it's worth getting it right, even if it makes me crazy in the process... :frusty:

My cousin had some trouble with his 5.4 too, I will try to talk to him, and see what he did to fix it. We don't get along very well, but I will see what I can do....:noidea:

    Thanks.
I have a call into my salvage yard buddy and he's checking around on it.
In the meantime he's getting me another coil pack to swap out again because according to a call I just had with him just because the resistance is good don't mean the coil is good under a real-world load (good point). They throw them out when a vehicle comes in and they inventory the motor(s) so he gets them for free. I give him a few bucks for the trouble and we call it even. It is better than it was and the plugs needed to be changed anyway (they were original !) so it's not been a waste of time. I just hate it when you spend the time and do things right and it's STILL screwed up.
