So I'm deciding which wraps to use on my super sweet camo arrows Which is more visable and after shot? I don't think the deer are going to care. Blaze orange wraps or White wraps or something else I'll be using blaze orange blazers.
I am partially colorblind so I have to have White, or somthing bright and not a naturall color in the woods, like neon Pink or Baby Blue. Greens, yellows and oranges Dissapear for me. JIM
Funny how we jump through our butts to get relatively 'invisible' and then put flourescent/bright stuff on our arrows... :bowl: Ron
I voted other. I believe Flourescent pink stands out the best in dawn and dusk conditions. You just have to put up with alot of ribbing about it.
remember white shows blood the best...... wait, what do you care, you wont get anything anyway........
Shows up to who best? biologically proven deer see blue best. But remember when u hunt anything, your actually hiding from the birds. Birds see in color. Birds have very distinct alarm calls, and all game animals pay attention to the birds(& squirrels.) So, if you can fool the birds around you, you can harvest any game animal you like, even the super secretive mountain lion. if you really want to be super woods savvy, learn the various alarm calls of various species. If your quiet/still enough when your in position, they'll forget about you and calm down. then they'll tell you when something is moving across the forest floor in your direction.......op2: Birds are the security system of the wildeness, whatever your hunting, pretend it's birds!!! So now your thinking I'm goona get shot not wearing orange eh? I wear it into my spot get settled and take it off and sit on it. After all I know bird language, and they tell me`when something is slipping across the duff, I'm well aware it could be a hunter. Infact I have sat still and had hunters walk right past me, Once even a hunter walked past me about 4 minutes later a deer was slipping along trailing him, for who knows why, and guess what I took home? - a chapter out of my life from the many classes I have taken at Tom Brown Jr's "The Tracker" tracking, wilderness and primitive living school.
Crazy type gun hunters may see your white arrow wraps in your quiver or such in the dusk or dawn while you are in all camo and think they see a tail you never know.
we have to wear our blaze orange during gun season, even when bow hunting. I like to think hunters would see that first cause its alot bigger then a few 4 inch or les fletches on my arrows, but you never never know!!!!:frusty:
