Need everyone’s advice or opinion… I think I'm going to take the leap to be one of the cool kids and buy a gaming system. (XBOX, PS). Even though my last gaming system was ColecoVision, I still play games, only on the computer now. So I am not inept when it comes to technology. Which system has more games that are kid friendly? Which system has better graphics? What other things do I need to consider? Please keep in mind: I have a 10-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son. I would like to be able to play games with them.
Nintendo Wii... thats your only option at his time. Graphics is the PS3 but their game lineup is complete crap. 360 has a great game lineup with "must haves" like Oblivion, Call of Duty 2, Halo 3... PS3 is junk. Wii is definitely what you want, good luck finding one. If you want one look on Ebay.
Wii is junk.....they just came out w/a new system....its called gooutsideandspendtimewyourkidsshootingarchery........ long name.....better results.....broken down it sounds like this..... go-outside-and-spend-time-w/your-kids-shooting-archery
My humble opinion is that video games are a total waste of time and money... Get outdoors and enjoy nature. Fish, hunt, camp, etc.... Stay away from the TV. Have a nice night and good luck working with your kinds on that. It's probably not going to be easy. Ron
whatcha gonna do at 8:00 at night? Video games are better then TV. especially a Wii as it keeps the kids active as well.
I respect what everyone is saying... I already purchased the: gooutsideandspendtimewyourkidsshootingarchery... * Both of my kids actively shoot archery with me (Son started at 3 and my daughter at 6) * Both of my kids volunteer their time at the archery club (they spend more time there than most members) * Both of them have chores that include working in the yard and cleaning the house * My son belongs to Boy Scouts * My son plays sports (Basketball, Baseball) * My Daughter belongs to a walking club at school * When I'm not working at the club or shooting 3D on the weekends... we go hiking at one of the state parks or camping in the backyard I do plenty with my kids, as my time is limited as how much time I can spend with them on the weekends due my schedule at work. My family and I have busy schedules so every so often it is nice to veg on the weekends and do mindless tasks. We are not glued to the TV or Internet-- in fact it was only a few years ago, we decided to get Cable TV. Only 6 months ago we got DSL... I think I am already active in my kids lives and do not plan on using this system as a babysitter, but as another way for me to enjoy my time with them. So with that said, it looks like I have one vote for the WII and one for gooutsideandspendtimewyourkidsshootingarchery :noidea:
there are always excuses but I'm definately planning on it! Barring any unforseen crap happening I'll be there. You shooting it or running it this time around?
Btt! PS-2 I like it better than 3,more to choose from, you can play ps 1& 2 in it more games for kids than any other & cheap now with ps-3 out!:biggrin1:
Wake up dredly! What are you talkin about dred? Here at wally world! $169 bundle package The silver slim @ $129 And the converter which you can use up to 8 controler's $69 If they stopped makin them it must be in your area only! Here they are pic right off the wally world web!
okay correction: they've stopped making GOOD PS2 games. As for the ability to play 8 players... yeah its out there but unless something has changed there are very few game which support that many people. Plus its a dead system. Why buy something that will be fully obsolete in the next 6 months?
I think as soon as Sony drops the price of the PS3 they are going to take off as well as PS2 done. But right now its kinda tuff to come up with $500-$600 for a new game system.
