Both are great bows. Get the one you think feels the best. I ended up with a guardian but I would have been more than satisfied with the ice. rick
Guardian is QUIET.....I shot (3) deer last February on nuisance/crop damage tags. Not one of them "heard" the guardian. Longest shot was 42 yards.
This time of year is a double edged sword for bow buying. On One hand you want to get your new bow set up, and dialed in, but on the other hand you know new bows are coming out soon. Ben
I can shoot a Diamond at Gander Mountain here, but where in Jacksonville, FL can I shoot a Guardian. :decision:
What do you call soon Ben? I own both and have shot them extensively. For me the choice would be easy. Hands down the Guardian! Dan
I have the Black Ice and really like it. I shoot 60# 29 inch draw and 286 grain arrow at 294 fps. I use it only for 3-D and my scores went up from when I was shooting my Switchback. I have never shot the Guradian but the Black Ice is a winner. Mo.Hick
ACtually its a triple edged sword (do those exist?) 1. Its hunting season and you want a new rig to shoot so buying one now is the perfect time to get it all up and ready for the season 2. All the new bows come out right after hunting season so waiting and using your old bow will get you a new cutting edge bow come spring. 3. All the bow whores (Mdewitt!) will be selling off their old bows at huge discounts in the later winter in order to preorder their new bows and you can save several hundred dollars by waiting for a few months. Plus with Hunting season gone and Turkey season months away a lot of people will sell their current hunting rigs right after ARchery season... and at that point you have all the time to sit and wait on a great deal Personally... I'd go with number 3. If Bowtech comes out with a new guardian that is faster then the old, guardians will get sold off like one of Bowman's Rabbits at an animal lovers convention.
Bowtech! I shot the guardian & the black Ice! Being a PSE shooter im not bias to these two bows in general! The Black Ice was a far better smoother shooter to me. The guardian was ok but i expected more and didnt see it! I also shot the Mossy Oak X Thats my next bow!:biggrin1:
i would still say the guardian. If you wanted it for hunting only the ice might be a little better because it has a little more brace height but I think the guardian is a better all around bow. Rick
