Most all manufacturers recommend that you only turn the limb bolts out 5 turns max. I'd do that and pull it on a scale and there you have it.....:peace:

It will probally be somewhere around 46-48 on the light end. Be careful not to back the limb bolts out too far and do it evenly, 1 turn out on top, 1 turn out on bottom. If you are close to a proshop just take it there and they can help you. Where in central IL? If you are close to Monticello thats one of the best shops in Illinois.

I used to shoot and then got divorced 6 years ago. My new husband decided he wanted to shoot, so we are getting the whole family bows. I just bought a Hoyt sapphire and that is what I used to shoot, so I cannot wait to get back into it.

I used to shoot at 44 pounds, but I am hoping to get the bow I have down to about 45-47 pounds. By the way, thanks to everyone who responded.

:welcome: to the forum Melissa. Great having you with us. Has your husband joined yet?? If so what is his username?? I would suggest you talk to your dealer or contact Hoyt to see exactly how many turns they feel is safe. Enjoy and keep posting.:peace:

I talked to my local bow shop and they said that they can only do 5 turns, but I can do an additional turn on my own. They said because of liability they won't do more than 5 . I should be getting the bow this next week so I will see.

    thanks for your help.

And no hubbie hasn't gotten on here yet.
