Never heard of one of those. Most of the pro's I've met were super cool and easy going. There is a couple that I'd like to have gotten into a ring for 5 min. but some people are good with other people and some arent..

    yup you got that right:biggrin1: :biggrin1: ....

i used to but then i started hitting targets when i needed too and relized that if i just concentrated on my shooting and not what others around me were doing or not doing that I shoot just fine and most of the time i can use my score to judge how easy or tuff a course was.....

I don't have to worry about that around here, not that I would worry about it anyway. I'm not easy to intimidate.
We also need to have some 3D shoots for a 'pro' to be able to show up to. We're still waiting on 3D schedules from the clubs that are still in business.

2 of the 3 clubs around here are having land access issues. 1 club went 'private' and they charge $75 to become a 'member'. This is their last year as a club too since they lose their land access rights at the end of the year. Another club was using land whose owner passed away. The relatives didn't want it (money anyone ?) and sold it to a cartel of guys who intend to hunt it. This is their last Summer of using it. They have to be off it by Sep 1st.

They have not published their schedule yet to my knowledge. It's been a bad season for land access for 3D's... We can just hope that things will get straighened out.

I 'heard' that there is a shoot this coming weekend but I have not been able to confirm that. I need to do some digging around.

    It stinks quite frankly...

ummm in NY the clubs have their shoots on the properties that they own (pay taxes on).....you mean to tell me that they are kinda like paying squaters out there???:noidea: :noidea:

holy crap.....I pay $75 a year to be a memeber of the club I help run....

cheap price to pay, to be able to go there any time and fire as many different weapons as I can bring w/me......:noidea:

Yes, the clubs take care of the land and get to use it in return. I don't know if any additional fees are payed to the owner(s).

I guess price is all relative to other clubs in the area. There's a club North of here that has 30 outdoor 3D targets and a pretty big indoor range. They charge $35 a year. The other club that charges $75 also charges $10 for each shoot in addition to the 75 bucks. So if you add that up it ends up being $135 a year if you attend 6 shoots. You don't get any additional perks that I know of. You also have to work the equivalent of 2 days in addition to the fees. I don't have an issue with that but for $75 you should at least be able to use the outdoor range at your leisure (except for organized shoot days) for the price.

We'll see what happens here in the next couple of weeks. Something is bound to break free and start happening around here. The weather is getting nice finally and I'm itching to head to the woods and kill some foam.
