I am shooting a 28" cx 300 with 100 grain head (to be determined) for a total arrow weight of 371 grains at 65#. That gives me 5.7 gpp. That is the lightest arrow I have ever used but with my speed at 291 I am still getting enough K.E. What do you think?

I'm shooting a 407 grain arrow at 289fps. I have never had an arrow stay in an animal that was broadside.

You should have no problems with energy.

I'm shooting 26 inch Gold Tip Expedition Hunters from a 62 pound Hoyt Vulcan. The arrows are around 315 grains and fly around 290 fps. This puts me at about 5.1 grains per pound.

This was taken off of Bill Pellegrino's archery hut web site.

    Small Sized Game - 25 ft-lbs

Medium Sized Game (Deer, antelope, etc.) - 25-40 ft-lbs

Large Sized Game (Elk, Moose, Black Bear) - 50-65 ft-lbs

Dangerous/Tough Game (Cape Buffalo, Grizzly, etc.) - 65 ft-lbs and above

I have read several pieces of info that said for medium sized game (whitetails, turkey, etc) 40 ft lbs of kinetic energy would be more than adequate. What is your opinion?
