Ok, I am thinking about some new advertising for 3DShoots.com
I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag yet.

What I need to know is why you like to come here. Now, you have to stay politically correct because I will be using this info as part of my advertising.

I guess what I am asking is write an ad or commercial for us, let's see how creative you can get. Do we need a hot girl or just promote what we are about?

    Thanks for any advice.

The reason I come here is not a good advertisement for growing the site...:biggrin1:

I come here because it is more personal than larger sites. I know the people on here that post regularly better than any other site. This site is smaller and has more of a family atmosphere......

    Sorry I'm not more help....

    Why

    Chris,
Mabey you should contact Martin and see if we can borrow one of their girls?? The ability to talk with experienced hunters/3d shooters can help the average hunter tremendously. I wonder how many years of experience just the senior members have hunting/shooting?? I bet its up there! Access to that kind of information, their mistakes and experiences make us younger hunters that much better. Thank you veterans. Some of the things I did during my first couple years hunting were a waste of time, but I was learning. The areas I hunted, the scouting I didn't do, the times I hunted etc.... I did manage to shoot and kill 12 deer (no wounded runaways). I practiced shooting a lot before my first bowhunting season. Now, hunting is completely different, several digital trail cams later, over a dozen stands, and some well scouted/set up locations. Oh, and a food plot. :typing: I'm very excited for the upcoming season! October 1st is just around the corner.
Thanks to you for a great site!

I agree with JCMorgan. It's a more intimate site and people are having fun but being helpful too. AT, for example, is basically out of control and way too big for their britches.

I personally think trying to grow this site too big too fast is not going to be a good thing in the end because you're not going to be able to control the type of information shared effectively...

I don't think you need a gimmick... Communicate what the site is really about.

3D Shoots.com, Hundreds of cool archery people and one nerd.:D

    No fan club in here.
It's more like walkin into the corner bar instead of a night club.
You can have a little good natured fun, get help and learn something about archery or anything else your brave enough to write about.

First I just want to say, if you guys decide you need a pretty girl to advertise...Please get a pretty one, not a sleezy one. And keep her clothes on, she needs to look like a real archer, not a porn star.

Anyway, with that said, I like this site cuz it is small and personal. I have asked a few ??'s on AT that dissappear quickly and never get answered cuz there are so many people on there.

Hey, I am leaving the area and my club guys are very sad  (I don't know why) but anyway, I could tell them to come here to keep in contact with me :biggrin1: Or, if I had one, I could wear a 3Dshoots.com shirt at the fair booth at the end of this month :noidea:

Also I thought the site was growing at a nice pace.....
and at this pace it is staying freindly and respectful.....
I am not around much right now, but that has to do w/some personal issues.....

I come here for the knowledge that we all like to share w/each other......

THE BIGGEST REASON, IS THAT 3DSHOOTS.COM HAS NO AGGENDA......hidden or other wise

no alterior motive if you will.......

there are no bow brands to impress, no bosses to grovel at the feet of......

I believe you are sitting on a copper mine (Gold mine would make you rich, copper will only help support your habits) that needs to be tapped into.

Since you asked for some advice, here my pennies worth:

I think you need to look at 2 things…
    1. How do I get people to the site?
    2. How do I keep them here or coming back?

An advertising campaign will only draw people to your site. Why should I want to come to this site? To tap into years of experience of people that have a common goal or interest as I do and to check for Archery shoots locally or when I am on the road.

It will do you no good if you get 500 people to sign up here and they don’t stick around or return to this site.

Once you get people here, how do you keep them? How do you keep people returning back to this site every day/week/ month? Increasing your returning numbers will only help you with your final goal.

I can babble all day about what this site can become and what can be done.

    Here’s some interesting information:
Not sure if these numbers are accurate, but from an independent source:
AT has about 70-80 thousand unique hits a month.
Bowsite has about 50-70 thousand unique hits a month
3D shoots has about 15-25 thousand unique hits a month

So why exactly is it a big concern to expand the membership base at a faster rate? Its growing slowly correct?? At least at this pace your posts don't get knocked of the board before you get a reply!

Promote what you have. The great thing about this site is everyone gets along. There's no bashing and even though we all have the brands we like,no one try's to shove it down the other persons throat.Nothing wrong with growing, but it scares me that eventually the brand loyals will come, and along with that come's the problems.A/T is pretty much divided into 3 groupes..Martin,Bow Tech and Mathews...anyone else is an outsider.I would hate to see that here.I like all the bows and it's a darn shame that other's can't feel that way too....ah..nothing like blowing off a little steam.:amen:

As a beginning archer I really like the info that is available here from all the senior members. The best thing is that it doesn't matter how stupid your question is, you will get a straight answer. Poeple don't bash others here and if they poke a little fun they make sure you know that they are not serious. I totally agree with the feel af a small family atmospher and I have only been a member for like a month if that. It feels like I know some of the poeple on here just from reading their posts. I agree that growth is good, but growing too fast would make this place like all the others. I hope that helps. :peace:
