I stalked plenty of deer last year...but they always caught me on the draw. So now I am practicing unothodox footings.
Lesson 1-when shooting 20 yards while on your butt use the 25 yard pin.
Lesson 2- only shoot the bow parralell to the ground if you have a FULL containment rest!
    Lesson 3-watch for chiggers
Lesson 4-lay on back and draw bow to side when pulling from the prone position-then point at deer.

and as always..don't punch the release:lol:

I was hitting 50% of my 45 yard shots off my butt this evening. Not good enough yet, but promising.

I don't know if you've done much hunting yourself. But you'll need more than a fancy pair of shoes to stalk up and shoot a deer. They got eyes and reflexes like nothing else, and the wind swirles a lot around here. And I usualy do stalk the final distance with my shoes off for added hush. Sometimes you need to get so low you are off your feet, though. The grass around here is pretty short, so squating and shooting from one knee doesn't always keep you out of view.

Haven't done much stalking, yet. I'm an ambush hunter that still hunts some. Sounds like fun to try your suggestions, though.

It's like being plugged in to 220
    13 yards is my closest

Though I've been hit with 220 a few times and standard house 120 too many times to count, I never would have likened getting inside 10 yards of a deer with being plugged in. I cannot say I can argue with the statement, though.

Here some advice about shooting from a kneeling position.

    PUT YOUR FORWARD KNEE DOWN![/B

If you hit your kneecap with a cam when you shoot, it will be a Long crawl to the Orthopedic Surgeon.

    shooting kneeling

instead of one knee, if you can get on both and "lean back" so your butts on your ankles. It is a lot more stable to me. give it a try and see what you think!
