Well it seems like the new flavor for ’08 bow manufactures is the longer axle to axle. Just a few years ago it was hard to find a bow that was marketed for hunting that had over a 35 inch A2A. Now almost all the major bow companies have bows over 35 inches and seems longer is better, this year.

Are we victims of marketing: Did the bow companies forget about the population of shooters that like longer A2A bows few years ago and now acting like it was a new invention for everyone? :decision:

Just wonder what everyone’s thoughts are on this??? :noidea:

The more things change the more they tend to stay the same.

The way I see it is.. Manufacturers are aiming to build a more or less universal bow. One thats great for 3d and hunting. 35"+ A/A is plenty for 3d and short enough for hunting. This way the buyer can buy a bow that they can use for 3d + hunting. Which is smart on there part. Not many people can always afford a target bow and hunting bow.. Unless your Bunnyman!!

I personally like the shorter(under 35") bows for hunting. But for targets I like longer(over 35") bows. Everyone is different so its hard to make them all happy all the time.:peace:

I think it's an indication of the popularity of tournament/target shooting.

it has grown to enormous numbers in the past few years. We are seeing more and more people shooting 3d tourneys. Its now to the point where 2000+ people at an ASA pro-am is normal. and the manufacturers are eating up the rewards for it. Look at all the bows for 2008.. alot offer older models in a longer A/A.

i always leaned towards something in the middle myself.
    36-38 a to a
and a med brace 7 inches or so. seemed to work great for both worlds.
    ultratecs

q2xl all just great bows for the average archer for certain.

now you can get the 737, shark, dren Ld etc etc.
    should be good stuff.
