I'm new to the forum. I came across the web site searching for info on 3D shoots. I've been shooting a bow for about 23 years. Retrieving my dads arrows from the target long before that. I've always wanted to get into 3D shoots but most of my buddies shoot just to hunt. Myself I was expose to archery before I was exposed to hunting so I'm more obsessed with the archery side. Now my 8 year old son is showing a lot of interest in shooting. Make a long story short. I'm planning on going to some shoots after deer season and getting my son involved in now while he's young. What I'm wanting to know is there any sites that would give me info on the rules, the way the classification is broken up and what yardages to expect.sorry to be long winded but any help would be appreciated.

after you determin what you might want to shoot. contact some clubs in your area on listings of shoots. Also, Tell your buddy's that shooting 3d helps in hunting situations. practice on actuall 3d animal targets. We have alot of people here in Michigan shoot 3d just for practice for hunting. There are plenty of hunter classes in 3d shoots orgs. Just hunting guys think that they are just tournaments for money. Alot shoot for fun and practice. Get them to try it once and they'll be hooked..

Gettim' in early and keep in fun .... don't be a drill sargeant...:tape:

Also while shopping around at different shops talk to all the folks there
The owner of the shop probably has club info, but his employee may belong to another and someone there shooting may have another.

    Be curious but corteous :D
