Sunday i went hunting near my house, at about 4:45 i was getting ready to leave my stand when a doe walked in fron my left side. She got within 40 yards and walked off. No more than 15 minutes later someone spooked a monster buck and it ran and stopped about 50 yards to my left. It came from the direction that the doe went. He started to walk away and i grunted, he turned and came towards me, but when he got to where the doe came through i think he picked up her scent and whent the path she took. Has anyone had some good kills or encounters?
how do you know someone spooked it?.....did you see the person?.....maybe it was the monsters daddy......
I've seen alot of deer, and a few real good bucks. They don't seem to want to come in this year. Had one the other day; a big 6, out about 100 yrds. Rattled, grunted, snort-weeze.... and he just stood there snort'n and stomp'n:biggrin1: I don't know who was more frustrated but it was awsome. After about 20 minutes he just gave up and walked away. I also have a stand that every morning I try to get in it there's a BIG 8 standing 10 yrds from it, no matter how early I get there. Maybe I'll have to sleep in it this friday night:frusty:
I knew a guy that had to be carried to his stand......he was in a terrible car accident and for one hole season if he wanted to go hunting somone had to take him to the stand.......his upper body was o.k. but his broken legs were the issue......Well comes to the night before the opener of regular season....(rifle season) and his buddies dont want to have to carry him in the woods.....so he says to heck w/you guys......take me to my spot right now....I will sleep in my stand.....well he did.....If I remember right he shot a nice deer too.......
it probably was bowman that spooked it. I know there was someone there because i heard them going down their tree with a climber, they were making alot of noise.
thats now way to talk about someone.......just glad your not talking about m....oh wait a second.....your are talking about me......... :biggrin1:
