Watching the news yesterday about Joe Biden getting the VP nod, something came to mind. Obama had a private jet fly to DE to pick Biden up and take hime Springfield. Then Biden flew back to DE. I know that flight both ways used a few thousand gallons of fuel to fly 2 people. I know that he was not flying in a Cesna either. I big airliner that burns alot of jet fuel.

Now Obama is the one that told America to air up its tires and save some gas. Kind of a double standard there to me. Flying all over the country when he could be driving his Prius and helping save the planet like talks. JMO.

I don't pay much attention to this political crap cause I ain't allowed to vote for a while, but they (Obama camp) were making this big to do about McCain not knowing how many houses he owned...I guess its a bunch.

Then McCain says: 'well..fancy pants...who just bought a 4 million dollar mansion with the help of felon?' then Obama got real quite...

Now, McCain wrote a book so I know thats how he's rich...not tell me how Obama earned enough money as a senator and law professor (like his wife) to afford a 4 million dollar mortgage?

I am not a political person at all. I just can't sit back not say something. may not do any good, but silence is concent.

I just don't like someone telling me to save energy and do certain things while they are running and doing all that they preach against. Double standard to me.

I also don't see why someone would spend all those millions of dollars to win a job that pays $250,000 a year.

I am not a Damecrat or Republican. I am for the person that can keep us on track. Not that the pres can do much, mostly done on capitol hill. I don't care if they are man or woman, black, white, green or whatever. Don't tax me, don't take my rights away, handle the terrorist (or the boys and girls here will) and uphold the American way, just to name a few things.

All the talk about the budget and no one can fix it. That is a simple problem to fix. Put all lawmakers on SS like rest of us, Blue Cross med insurance and get rid of 75% of the government waste employees that get a check for doing nothing. No one needs an assistants, assistants, assistant. Stop giving our money away and in just a few months the big check book will be in the black. Simple.

1.7 billion has been spent on this election (through July)!

All for a 250K job? my butt.

I ran the numbers....you would have to be president for 680 years to recoup all the money blown to acquire that 250K job.

Personally, I would not want to be president. Although Bill Clinton had some nice perks...is it the fame, power and world wide recognition, or do they do it to stuff their pocket books after office?

Again, most these people are stinking rich to begin with. People like John Kerry and John McCain with their sugar mamas...I think the poorest guy to ever be elected President was James Garfield. He worked as a janitor to put himself through college.

I just read where Bush actually gets paid 400K and has "numerous expense accounts" so maybe I would like to be pres. Funny thing is, Clinton passed the approval for last presidential pay raise. :bowl:

Cheney gets 208K to not die. And also has numerous expense accounts.

Must be nice. A big house with all expense paid. Food is paid for. Transportation is paid for. Come fall, I would be in the woods and the heck with Iran and Russia. I could see the back lawn of the White house with a tree stand and some 3D targets out there. Now that would be funny. That is what it would look like with Ted Nugent as pres.

Well there was one man who said he would do it for free. An he said in 4 years he would have it in the black by then. Well stop throwing all the hard earned money way. Do we really care how the mud puppy gets laid or how long it's thingy is? But for 20,000,000 someone will research it.

They also mentioned on CBS that the parties are not supposed to take money from lobbyist. They went on to say all the companies that Obama did accept money from and how much it costs for the convention.

The last words were something like.. "but the companies want to be a part of the democracy!"
