wow, im seriously thinking of archery only for next year:dizzy:
I don't think Easton makes enough arrows a year for you to hunt only Archery
The good news is only 8 people have been shot this year... the bad news is thats probably because of how bad the weather was opening week (cold and rainy, but no snow)
thats why my symbol is :dizzy: I'm beginning to think that im :dizzy: when i shoot. and i dont shoot eastons, ALL ABOUT carbon express baby:rockon: :dizzy:
ohh and one more thing, i dont think winchester makes enough slugs for me to continue hunting shotgun  :dizzy:
I owned that 4 point first day tho, right in the heart courtering to me shot.:dizzy:
you can always reload
lol do you see how i spelled quartering???lol im a dur dur dur:dizzy:
Only 8 shot?? how many do they usually go through there??:noidea:
8 is pretty typical for Archery season. I think on average we hit double digits on the first day of White tail season.
here ya go:
last year it was 46 total with 16 being self inflicted (http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/cwp/view.asp?a=461&q=171538)
in 05 it was 47 with 12 being self inflicted
in 04 it was 56 with 14 self inflicted
and if you want any other years:
it looks like 92 was the last time we hit the 100 mark.
I think the autopsy will reveile he was killed by a gunshot wound. Do you all have hunter education in your state?
Dredly that is just unbelievable to me why so many fatalities?
they are real good shots???:noidea:
they aim for the heart.........:noidea:
My god:tape: , anyone ever hear of Hunter Education out there????? A bad year in Mo, is maybe 4 injuries.
yup hunters ed is required before getting a license, unless you already have a license and then it doesn't matter...
course if you got to a Walmart and say "I forgot my card" they will sell you a license and then you can keep getting a new one every year based off the old one. ANd yeah it works, my buddy has been hunting for 5 years this way
why so many Fatalities?
1. 2 week hunting season, no sunday hunting means the majority of hunters will only be able to hunt 2 days a year. If they want a deer they better shoot whatever they see move. Since they combined Antlerless into Antler season the fatalities have gone down signifigantly if that tells you anything (it used to be 2 weeks of buck and then 3 days (Mon, Tues, Wed after buck season ended) for antlerless.
2. Limited space, 1,000,000 hunters. ITs hard to find a spot where you aren't in danger of getting shot
3. High powered rifles and lots of valleys and hills. The old idea of "always know where your bullet will land" doesn't work around here. If you can find flat land to hunt you are doing pretty good for yourself. Its all rolling hills and valleys so the bullets keep going.
4. Its brown its down mentality. Thinking twice will cost you a deer and with 1,000,000 rifles in the woods its more then likely that if you don't shoot it someone else will and thats not an excuse. its 100% fact. Before the AR's went into place if you shot a 6 pointer it was reason to celebrate. The average deer herd age was 1.5 years, if that
i'm soooo sad:Cry: i found out from my dept. mrg. that i sold that young man his hunting licence......
your safer doing a tour in Iraq:bowl:
Only 2 of the incidents in 06 were fatal
