I know that this has been asked before, but how much speed do you loose by shortening your DL below IBO. I know that IBO is 30" - 70lb and 350 grn arrow. The same setup but only 29", how much difference?
I shoot 28.5 draw/29, 360 grain arrows with everything on. My IBO is 309 and im getting around 270 and pass threws with no problem...speed isnt everything. but i dont think it effects that much
I would much rather have control than speed. I was just wondering what the take off was. I found the calculator that deducts 10 fps for each inch under 30". My Tibute shoots plenty fast enough. I am getting 297-299 right now. That is 60 fps faster than my last bow 16 years ago.
Typically the average is minus 10fps per inch at 5gpp, however other factors such as cam design can affect that amount considerably. Draw specific cams tend to lose less at shorter draws than cams with modules or pegs.
