Got a question out there for everyone. What do you find to be the best object to shoot at when practicing and or even the most cost effective one that you line to use? For me mostly it's old stumps with judo's or small sticks i leave randomly around the yard. anyone else use anything unique or special? :noidea:
We went out one time with blunts and shot cows:laugh: . Not recommended, I heard you can kill them if you hit the right spot. Since I was shooting light weight at the time and long distances I didn't hurt any. I just shoot targets, can't afford to hit things that might hurt my arrows.
what you never been cow tipping???? I thinkit would be awsome to hunt an animal as big as a cow or horse just to see if you could kill it......with a bow......and think of all the meat????
Hey wheels I think he is calling you a rubber dumb dumb.:noidea: Cow tipping is a little different than shooting a cow with an arrow. Go to Africa and hunt a Zebra I hear they are terribly hard to kill.eace:
cheap target's I use to take a 2 liter coke bottle a saltwater-open-face reel and let my son when he was about 7 reel it as fast as he could across the yard. now he's 19 and he make's me do it. also he fill's them 1/4 way full and take's the top off/turn's it upside down and try' to blow the top off with out rockin the bottle birthday candle's lovum....:biggrin1:
Daisey Shatterblast targets are fun to shoot at. They are made for BB/pellet guns but are fun to shoot arrows at. They are orange clay targets about 2-1/2" across and fit into a black plastic holder. You get 4 holders and about 12 targets for about $5. They have clay target refills without the holders too. Ron
I had to go back and re-read the first post. I read is as "crows" not "cows". Holy crap.... you were shooting at cows with blunts? That is just plain mean....:noidea: I thought the TV said all the cows in california were happy cows? Must be southern California cows......:biggrin1:
These cows are happy, they were Oregon cows. And we only did it once. We stopped when my Bro in law said he killed a cow doing this once  I have never been cow tipping, but heard it is a lot of fun.
Thats wild......I've had plenty of friends that have shot deer with broadheads and made good shots and not recovered them. Maybe we should start using fat rubber blunts?????:noidea:
I like to introduce kids to the sport of archery. I got the little red compound for very small children, then the Brave, pse's Bandit, and a hoyt Rebel that draw about 45 pounds. Anyway I set up water balloons in front of my block target and the kids get a kick out of that. We also set up plastic soda bottles full of water and red food coloring, with the lid on, so they "gush blood" when shot.
And I got to say; Shooting cows with a blunt and cow tipping is definately not cool. Actually I think cow tipping is an urban legend and not possible.
Cow tipping is in fact possible as I have lived on a farm..cows do not sleep standing up but at night when a cows vision is limited you can sneak up on them and if you plant your feet tipping a cow is pretty easy have done it before and will do it again..just stay away from the bull..lol long story:doh:
