So who starts a good sized home project 11 days before the opener? I ought to have my head examined. Just opened up the gable end of the house to build a fireplace. It's only been like 10 years I been putting it off..
When spring comes every year, dammed if other things don't get priority, carries thru the summer. Then fall, getting ready for winter. I can't have it hanging over my head any more. It's begun. Now I hope the weather holds, keep it hot so I won't really want to hunt till it's done. What a sap...

I feel for ya, my Wife tries to get me to start a project every year around this time. I just tell her to talk to me in January. She is usually ok with that. (Notice I said usually)

It will be cool (hot?) when its done though. Nothing like a good fire on a cold night. If your missus gets more frantic closer to the season, though, you can always reassure her by letting her know that they make tarps big enough to cover that whole side of the house..................

I'm afraid she's lived through that before. Ahhh, the good ol days.
We lived in an old house trailer on this lot while we built the house. We worked our regular jobs and built after work and weekends. Lot's of long nights for sure. This should'nt be that bad on her. It will be nice to have it off the list though.

My arse is dragging. Got things framed and the hearth mixed and poured this afternoon. I should have had it delivered, but no, not me, I used to do this stuff for a living. Holly cow am I getting soft...

That first roaring fire is gonna be mighty satisfying though, as will every one after that.:thumb: Some things can't be delivered. I hear what you're saying about mixing though, I used to do tile and marble, mixing a 3 yard box by hand gives ya a great upper body/lower back workout!
