I just started 3d shooting and am going to get some of the big shafted arrows. I was wondering which is the best. I would like to keep shooting 70 lbs and about a 29 to 30 inch arrow.

PS this is my first thread on here but I like what I see so far.

first off, :welcome: to our big, disfunctional family...im sure you will enjoy your time here

as far as fat arrows go, i know quite a few people that shoot goldtip 30X's or X cutters and like them....the Easton Fatboys are also a good arrow...i personally shoot goldtip xt hunters for everything, so i dont have much experience with the larger diameter arrows, but im sure some of the guys on here have...

P.S. you dont shoot a mathews do you? :biggrin1:

Welcome hope you enjoy your stay here....

Gold tip 30X pros are not intended for outdoor use.......I dont beleive...

Carbon Express has two fat shafts intended for 3-d.......

CXL2's and LineJammmers.....I have used line jammers, and have been very happy w/them......

I am going to setup some CXL2's when the prestige gets here, just to try something new.

The cxl2's are the lightest of the fat shafts from Carbon Express.....

Alot of guys around here use Fatboys and really like them....

"Best" is a very relative term. It really depends on your set up. Give me the following and I will see what I can come up with:

    Bow
    Poundage
    Draw weight
    Draw Length
    Let-off %
    Fletchings you will use.
    Actual arrow shaft length.

Personally I like Fatboys. Why? Because their logo looks cool. In reality, they don't spine well for my setup. I will probably be changing to something else that fits my bow better.

I just got some Easton 400 Fatboys (because I want a set of those cool matching flame wraps)...
I have not shot them yet but they are obviously good quality.

You realize the wraps have to go on before the fletchings right/????:biggrin1:

First off :welcome: to the forum kick back and enjoy yourself.

I do not think there is a "BEST" but if you start shooting a few different ones you will find the ones you like the best. Good luck:peace:

    Welcome to the forum...

It's all personal preference...I like CX, alot of guys like GT's, and Easton...
It's a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge question...They all make a fat shaft and they all make a good arrow...:noidea:

Yes... I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday... It was the day before...

Actually I have not even cut them yet. I need to decide what bow I'm going to use for target. I guess I'm like a few others out here, just collecting parts and trying to make a decision on the bow and rest.

Yeah, I'm just taking my time and keeping my eyes open.
It's not like I NEED this stuff right away.
I plan on starting league with my hunting setup on my Allegiance anyway...
They're doing some kind of handicap to even the playing field between 'hunters' and indoor shooters.
    We'll see how that goes.
