Hey guys, hunting opened last week in WI! I shot a 24lb tom sunday morning. Really nice bird! 10 inch beard and almost inch spurs!!! Dandy of a hunt! BIrd must have gobbled 50 times during the morning, no joke!!!!! shot him at 7:30! Came in with 3 hens and a jake. One of the hens was a bearded hen!!!!!! awesome!!!!!
Just during deer season I would hunt them in the spring but IL has no Archery season on em. Do you carry the Guillotine's (2 shoot thier head right off) yet? I would like to try some of them because broadheads put to bi a hole in them.
What do you mean no archery season? You can hunting them with your bow in the spring time. You can use gun or bow.
I will be headin out on monday, april, 24th. I got a good spot with alot of birds, so hopefully I will have some luck and one will come by my blind.
I have 2 seasons I have 2 seasons, April 26 to 30th and may 3 to the 7th.. There are turkey's all over where I hunt. Its the turkey capital of Wisconsin.. I have been doing some calling for my brother and friends seen alot of big tom's, called in my buddy's 24lb.. the best was had 3 jakes walk 5yds from the blind, but my like brother wanted to hold out, I don't blame him... I'll post a pic if I get one.. The bow is all set up just itching...

Successful Turkey Hunt After three days I finally bagged a nice tom. Took the bow out the first two days. Saw over 30 birds each day but they kept hanging up at forty to fifty yards. Finally had two seperate birds come in under twenty yards. The first one i missed, my fault i rushed the shot. Missed the second one at fifteen. Shot right over his head and I was aiming at body. Shot felt good but i couldn't figure out why i missed so bad. Half hour later i noticed three little cuts in my blind one inch from my the window where i shot through the blind and hit the zipper. How frustrating. Third day i took the flame thrower. Got a tom with a 10 inch beard and 1 1/4 inch spurs at 6:10 in the morning. You can not beat a good day of turkey hunting. I love it. Anyone else having luck? Clover & Oats
