I am thinking about buying a hoyt for my target bow. I do not know weather to get a Ultratec,Protec, or Xtec. I have shot all three and they are awsome, but I do not know enoght about Hoyt I am a Matthews and bowtec shooter. This bow will be primarly for spots and mayby a 3d shoot or 2. I shoot backtension 28 inch draw length I will be shooting myt target bow at 60 lbs. Any insight from all you Hoyt fans out there please let me know thanks.
If speed is not an issue go with the ProTec. If you need the speed for say 3D, get the UltraTec because it will be faster than the ProTec. The ProTec would be a better spot bow because of the higher brace height.
I am in the same boat and have found what I think is a winner for me. It would probably work for you as well. Its a Protec 50-60#, XT2000 limbs set at 58#. I am getting 283 FPS with a 260g arrow that is 2" to long. My draw is 26.5". With your draw length you could back down the poundage and get the same speed. If you shoot ASA I believe 280 FPS is the limit. I plan to use mine for 3D.
