I am in the process to rig a 2004 silver flame ultratec built with spiral cams and XT 3000 limbs as a target bow. I have a matching set of cables and string on order from Prostring and looking at Doinker for a proper stabilizer.

I have bowhunted for over 30 years and aside from bowhunting gears I never used anything else for practice and all my shooting is backyard shooting.

I started looking at target sights (toxonics&Copperjohn) and all I can say is that it is very confusing to say the least.

What would be a good quality sight for setting up this bow. I surely don't plan to get on the competition circuit but nonetheless looking at buying quality.

    Thanks

    Sights

Hi Moose! - Shel with ProString here.

Your set shipped the 13th, so it should arrive in a couple of days - turned out great!

Are you shooting multiple pins or movable pin? There are many great sights to choose from - my hunting bow has a setup from Copper Johns and it has proven very reliable. Enjoy the project! Many archery pro shops will take the time to work with you and sometimes even let you try before you buy. Shel. :)

Usually you get what ya pay for

I started off with a sureloc and now I shoot CBE.
I like sturdy and beefy with the silent windage.
The new quadlite is very nice,I have the microlite.
I have a freind who does like the copperjohn,he has two,no complaints there.
I guess it just is a matter of personal preference and what you think will do everything you need a sight to do for ya.
I know I could hunt wth mine if I wanted to,no clicks. As for now and what I have expereinced, get the best, and make sure you have no space between the rod and the scope mount,I got a titanium rod in mine, had two pop and brake off.
I beleive you can a good copperjohn or sureloc and a scoperod through this websites store.

Shel thank you very much for the quick turn around. can't wait to see the bow with them cables and string in Blue and silver! Glenny I'll look at these other companies you mentionned.

I want this bow to be strickly a target shooting bow. I already have 3 hunting bows with too many hunting sights.

Actually, when I am done, I just don't want a good target bow I also want a bow that will look as good as it shoots. I am much tempted by the Toxonics in silver but not sure which model.

I shoot the Toxonics naildriver 5300 now and hands down it is my favorite sight I use a CR apex 3d 6x scope. This setup replaced my Sure Loc challanger and I could not be more happy.

It all depends on personal taste and budget, I own spot hogg, sure lok, and recently picked up a sight made by Davis called "The System" which seems to be a pretty decent sight for just over $100. If possible try as many as you can to see which fits you

I recently switched from CJ ANTs (both regular and FITA) to a SHIBUYA Compound. Other than a $35.00 increase the biggest change was the ease of zeroing the thrid axis. CJ is difficult. I was seriously thinking about the CBE but it didn't have the 3rd axis adjustment cabability.

    Just my 2 cents
